Some of BetterTrades most popular on-location classes are held in the bustling Midtown district of Atlanta. Held in one of the many luxury hotels located in the district, the Financial Freedom Expo is an asset to any trader looking to increase their success in the stock market. The Midtown Alliance is a group of volunteers and community members that have worked to increase the quality of life in the area since its formation in 1978. Their hard work has definitely paid off, and Midtown is today considered the "Heart of Art" in Atlanta. This, in addition to the area's many other cultural landmarks, makes Midtown an exciting location for BetterTrades students to visit while attending trading classes in Atlanta.
The High Museum of Art is the leading art museum in the southeastern United States and is located in Midtown. The museum holds over 11,000 works of art in its permanent collection including pieces by Claude Monet, Clarence John Laughlin, and Dorothea Lange. The museum has also hosted visiting collections from world-renowned museums such as the Louvre in Paris, France and the Opificio delle Pietre Dure in Florence, Italy. The High Museum offers BetterTrades students the opportunity to experience some of the finest art that Atlanta has to offer.
The beauty of Midtown doesn't stop there. The Atlanta Botanical Garden is a 30-acre garden containing smaller themed gardens such as a rose garden, Japanese garden and the Storza Woods garden as well as an indoor exhibit featuring plants from tropical rainforests and deserts. Additionally, the Garden has recently hosted an exhibition of mosaic sculptures from the artist Niki de Saint Phalle. The Garden is adjacent to Piedmont Park, a 189-acre park also located in Midtown. It is known as Atlanta's "Central Park." Piedmont Park has been an Atlanta staple for over 100 years and today boasts paths for walking, running, biking and inline skating as well as areas for picnics, playgrounds and open space for general recreation. The Piedmont Park Conservancy is currently finishing work on an environmentally friendly Bathhouse, set to be completed by summer 2009.
BetterTrades students also have the opportunity to enjoy one of Atlanta's most well-known attractions when attending the Midtown workshops: Atlantic Station. Atlantic Station is on the former site of the Atlantic Steel Mill and is today a mixed-use land development with over 15 million square feet of retail, office, and hotel space. BetterTrades students have the opportunity to shop at the outdoor mall or catch a film at the 16-screen Regal movie theater. There are also a variety of high-scale dining options available.
One of Midtown's most famous staples is The Varsity, a drive-in diner that has been an Atlanta favorite since 1928. The Midtown restaurant is the largest drive-in fast food restaurant in the world and currently covers two city blocks. The restaurant features affordable hot dogs, hamburgers, sodas, fries and shakes. The Varsity is near Georgia Tech's campus and is a popular hangout among students. BetterTrades students are sure to enjoy The Varsity's unique atmosphere and classic food.
