BetterTrades, the leading stock market education company in the country, took an active role in the Investor iConference hosted online by Forbes.com in November 2008. The conference was titled "Profiting in Volatile Markets," a subject that BetterTrades teaches students to deal with on a regular basis. The company has been helping educate its students learn to handle volatility through proper instruction since 2002. The conference was designed to help investors better navigate the turbulent economic conditions.
For the 2008 Forbes iConference, BetterTrades sponsored a virtual booth and dispensed information about how a quality stock market education can lead to financial independence. Coach Scott Schilling presented the BetterTrades plan live during the conference and gave viewers a chance to enroll in the conference. Schilling spoke about implementation strategies, education and expertise. Visitors to the virtual booth were able to interact with members of the BetterTrades staff and get their questions answered about stock market trading.
Schilling, an experienced member of the BetterTrades staff, entitled his address, "How to Make Money Regardless of Stock Market Conditions." Schilling has addressed thousands of students about opportunities that exist in learning how to trade the stock market. His goal is to help students maximize their skills and potential by teaching them to take control of their financial destiny. Scott's presentations are easy to understand and implement and his address at the iConference was no exception.
Prior to the Forbes iConference, BetterTrades gave away $1,000 to a random guest who was only required to register at the company's booth. Simply by signing up, the visitor also received the Monday Morning Outlook, the weekly stock market newsletter that is filled with market information. Registered guests also received a pair of bonus reports: "Turning an Investment Into a Profit" and "Three Important Lessons Every Successful Trader Should Know." The premiums were valued at nearly $1,000 and no purchase was required.
The BetterTrades drawing was won by Monique Alderman of Sunrise, Fla., who was surprised and gracious when she received the phone call that informed her of the news. Thousands of people registered for the chance to win and Ms. Alderman was the lucky winner.
"We're grateful for all the people who registered for the contest and participated in the conference," said BetterTrades founder Freddie Rick after the winner was announced. "We're sure they found their visit to the conference beneficial and we look forward to helping all of them take their first step to financial independence."
Representatives from Forbes and other companies with an online present were also involved in the iConference. Other movers and shakers in the investment industry spoke during the event, including Forbes chairman and CEO Steve Forbes, Forbes ETF adviser Jim Lowell, Forbes economist Gary Shilling, Forbes newsletter editor John Dobosz, and Forbes growth investor Vahan Janjigian.
"We are thrilled to be working with Forbes.com and a stellar lineup of investment professionals for this online conference," Rick said at the time of the conference. "It's our company mission to show new and experienced traders how to take control of their financial life by making better trades. We will be covering topics that are certain to be of interest in today's market environment."
